To fullfill the dreams of the greater Nonoi area for accelerating its youths towards higher
education, Nonoi College was established with due permission from Gauhati University. The
college, which has passed thirty six summer and thirty six winter, has been playing a centric
role for the rise of higher education in his economically backward but socially and culturally
prominent Nonoi area. The college has reached its present status due to the
extravagentsacrifies by some social workers, teachers and students. The college
facilitates only the stream of arts, but in due time, attempt will be made for opening
streams of science and commerce. The stream of Arts comprises English, Elective Assamese,
Economics, Folklore, History, Geography, Political Science, Education and Psychology offer
major. The departments of English, Assamese, Political Science and Education offer major.
