The Department of Economics was introduced in 1985, in the year of the establishment of the college. The Department offers B.A. Regular Courses following the UG-CBCS (Under Graduate-Choice Based Credit System) under Gauhati University. The students are admitted on the basis of marks obtained in the HS (10+2) standard Examinations conducted by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) or Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSC) or any other equivalent examinations. In coming years, the Department is enthusiastic to open B.A. honours Course.
